Community Resources

There are different programs and support groups in the community that are able to help you if you are experiencing problematic gambling behaviour.

Restrictive resources such as Voluntary Self-Exclusions (VSEs) and mobile gambling blockers (GamBan, BetBlocker, etc) can be a tool to help gamblers refrain from temptation or access gambling sites.

Voluntary Self-Exclusions (VSE)

The self exclusion program is a resource to help gamblers who want to take an extended break from gambling in a casino. Gamblers who register for a VSE in Saskatchewan will be banned from all casinos in the province. A person can choose the length of their VSE ranging from 6 months up to 5 years. VSEs may go by different names depending on the platform or casino. Some common names are Game Break, Time Out, or Opt-Out.

If you are on-site, reach out to the customer service staff or other staff members to assist in obtaining a VSE. Alternatively, call the number associated with your casino to start the VSE process.

Saskatchewan Resources

People can receive gambling addiction help, support, and information that is free and confidential through the Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline. Counsellors are available 24/7 when you call, with the option to text during specified hours.

SIGA Casinos

Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has 7 casinos throughout the province:

Bear Claw Casino (Carlyle), Painted Hand Casino (Yorkton), Living Sky Casino (Swift Current), Dakota Dunes (Whitecap FN), Northern Lights Casino (Prince Albert), Gold Eagle Casino (North Battleford), Gold Horse Casino (Lloydminster).

Call 306 477 7545 to find out more information on how a VSE with the SIGA Casinos can help you.

When you are at a Saskatchewan casino, you will always find a GameSense booth inside the venue. GameSense will provide information about how games work.
